Ty Bettis serves as Portland General Electric's Renewables Integration Project Manager, identifying cost-efficient methods for integrating renewable resources into PGE's resource mix and monitoring regional activities related to renewable energy integration. 
Mr. Bettis has 21 years experience at PGE, the last 11 in Power Supply Operations.

In 2009, Mr. Bettis received his Master of Science degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific College, where he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. PGE is a member of both the American Wind Energy Association and the Utility Wind Integration Group, and Mr. Bettis represents PGE on WECC's Variable Generation Subcommittee and the NW Wind Integration Forum Technical Working Group. 





























Bob is the CEO and President of ES&P. He has 25 years of experience in the Gas Turbine industry, both on the aircraft and industrial side. He was one of the founders of PSM, the world's largest aftermarket supplier of hot gas path components for GE7FA and SW501F turbine and combustors, which is currently owned by Alstom. As President of PSM, Bob's leadership and vision was key in developing PSM's business into a global organization with over 250 people adding a service, repair and commercial operation to complete the business so it could successfully compete with OEM's multi-billion dollar per year gas turbine service business. 

During Calpine's ownership of PSM, 2000-2007, Bob was the VP of engineering. During that period, Bob was responsible for developing and manufacturing turbine and combustor components for the 7FA, 501F, 9E, 6B, 7EA and W501D. He also was responsible for delivering major upgrade projects including Ultra low emission conversion for more than ten 7EA and 501D5 & B6 engines combined. Bob and his team were responsible for the only large scale Air Injection and Humid Air Injection test ever completed on a GE7FA at Calpine's Broad River Facility in 2001.

Bob also spent more than ten years in the first part of his career in the military gas turbine design field for both General Electric and Pratt & Whitney. In his last assignment at Pratt & Whitney, Bob was the Component Improvement Team Manager for the Lockheed F22 Low pressure turbine design.
Bob has a bachelors of science in mechanical engineering from Cleveland State University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Florida.

Charlie Smith currently serves as the Executive Director of the Utility Wind Integration Group (UWIG), and is also the Managing Director of the consulting company Nexgen Energy. He contributed to the U.S. Department of Energy/American Wind Energy Association 20% by 2030 Vision Scenario for Wind, published in 2008.. In 2006, he received a Special Achievement Award from AWEA for “outstanding contributions to the acceptance of wind power by the electric power sector.”

Previously, he served as President of Electrotek Concepts, a power engineering consulting firm. He has 37 years of experience in the electric power industry. Charlie is a Senior Member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society, and a member of CIGRE, the International Council on Large Electric Systems. He received his BSME and MS degrees from MIT in 1970.
