Steven Hauser
Vice President, Grid Integration, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)

Steve Hauser is Vice President of Grid Integration for National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and is responsible for creating new programs and partnerships to lead national efforts to create a smarter grid. He has been nationally recognized for more than 25 years as a leader in clean energy technology development efforts. He has been featured in numerous conferences and popular articles describing the concepts and benefits of a Smart Grid.

Mr. Hauser was the driving force behind the creation of the GridWise® Alliance. Since 2000, he has brought together more than 200 companies to create a broad industry vision to transform energy systems, markets and technologies. Mr. Hauser has also led the creation of new national brands like GridWise® and GridWeekTM significantly raising the visibility of these issues with federal and state policy makers.
Previously, Mr. Hauser has held various senior management positions at GridPoint, Battelle and SAIC. During his career he has served as an advisor to numerous clean energy organizations and is former Chairman of the World Renewable Energy Congress. Mr. Hauser holds an M.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Washington and a B.S. in engineering physics from Oregon State University.

Kevin Bryant
Vice President, Energy Solutions, Kansas City Power & Light

Kevin Bryant leads KCP&L in collaborating with customers on innovative energy solutions. He will be responsible for the development of customer programs, which include demand side and energy efficiency initiatives. Mr. Bryant's strategic insight and finance/marketing experience will play a key role in these initiatives. He joined Great Plains Energy in 2003 as Senior Financial Analyst and was promoted to Manager - Corporate Finance, in 2005.

Mr. Bryant graduated from the University of Missouri — Columbia with a dual major in finance and real estate, and received his MBA from The Stanford University Graduate School of Business with an emphasis in finance and marketing. 

Mr. Bryant has experience in strategic planning and financial areas including analysis, cash management, financial models and mergers and acquisitions. While at THQ Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software based in California, Mr. Bryant served as Manager — Strategic Planning. He was responsible for identifying corporate goals and developing the company's three-year plan. As a Corporate Finance Analyst for what is now UBS Paine Webber, Mr. Bryant worked on mergers and acquisitions for medium and large-sized companies. He also worked at Hallmark Cards as a Financial Analyst. 

While attending The Stanford University, Mr. Bryant served on the board of directors for the Positive Coaching Alliance, which promotes sportsmanship for coaches, parents and leaders. He currently serves as a youth coach for basketball, softball and football.

Bruce Evans
Director, Customer Solutions & Delivery, CPS Energy

Bruce Evans began his Electric Industry career at West Texas Utilities 4-1-1979, an operating company of the Central and South West System head quartered in Dallas Texas. He held numerous manager and executive level positions during his 21 career with Central and South West Inc. and American Electric Power including President of Central and South West Shared services, and President of Central Power and Light in Corpus Christi, Texas.

After leaving American Electric Power, Bruce served as Senior Manager for Deloitte Consulting in Dallas, Texas, concentrating on electric utility strategy, particularly for the restructured industry and continued his consulting work forming his own firm. In April of 2004, Mr. Evans joined Cirro Energy, a retail electric provider in the competitive power market in Texas, as Vice President of Customer Relations. Mr. Evans joined CPS as the Senior Manager of Customer Relationships and Sales on 7-24-06. In February of 2007 he was promoted to Director of Strategic Energy Management and Client Solutions for CPS Energy. In November 2007, Mr. Evans assumed added duties that resulted in the title of Director of Customer Solutions and Delivery for CPS Energy which has involved the design, marketing, and implementation of an aggressive, power plant scale, energy efficiency and demand response program along with other product offerings that add value for the customers of CPS Energy.
