Maureen Coveney
Director, IT&BI / SONGS Portfolio
Southern California Edison
Maureen Coveney is the Director for the IT&BI Portfolio for Southern California Edison’s San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). She oversees the overall development and maintenance of information systems and technical infrastructure that supports SONGS.
Maureen possesses an ideal combination of IT customer relationship management experience and technical knowledge honed from her 20 years working in the utility market. Most recently, she served as Executive Director for the Utilities Practice at SAP, where she was responsible for the development of the North American Utilities Business Strategy. Prior to joining SAP, Maureen served as Vice-President of Product Management and Marketing for OSIsoft, Inc. Maureen began her career as a nuclear engineer at General Electric Company.
Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering, both from the University of California, Berkeley.

Brian Porter

Brian Porter is manager of HR Analytics & Reporting for Southern California Edison. He manages human capital analytic & reporting product and services, workforce forecasting, and leads business intelligence technology projects for HR.
Brian has extensive experience leading financial/business planning processes while providing detailed analysis to support business decisions. He combines strategic and tactical financial expertise with strong qualifications in human capital management and information technology gained from over 18 years in financial services, manufacturing, and most recently, the utility industry.
Prior to joining Southern California Edison, Brian was Director of Business Analysis & Operations for Fidelity Investments, Human Resources organization.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Real Estate and Urban Economics from the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance, from the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Connecticut.

And he has headed research/ consulting projects for numerous utilities and vendors, including Northwestern Energy, Hydro-Quebec, Lucent Technologies, Autodesk, Elster, Vertex and many others. A frequent keynoter (on leading edge technology in information, distribution and business) at major industry conferences, he founded Warren B. Causey, Ltd., one of the most respected research/publishing/ consulting firms in the industry.

Brian has 23 years experience in the Utilities industry. As one of SAP's Utility Principals, he is responsible for strategy, thought leadership and industry domain expertise for the Utilities Practice in North America. Among his various responsibilities is providing thought leadership in the areas of Smart Grid, Renewable Energy, Transmission and Distribution Operations and Customer Systems. Brian also leads the SAP AMI Lighthouse Council, which is a consortium of SAP's AMI customers and partners, and the CIS/CRM Influence Groups. Prior to his career at SAP, Brian held senior management positions at other technology firms and held various management positions at an investor owned electric and gas utility for 11 years. While at the utility, his responsibilities included a special focus on grid operations, demand response and demand-side management initiatives.
