John Steinberg
As an expert in emerging energy technology, John Steinberg is a frequent speaker at clean tech and energy industry events. He specializes in energy-related topics affecting the consumer such as residential energy efficiency, consumer energy behaviors and patterns, and smart grid technology. John has presented for the California Energy Commission and the University of California's California Institute for Energy and Environment, and has also been a featured speaker at the Demand Response Enabling Technology Development Conference from the University of Californa, as well as the Behavior, Energy and Climate Change Conference from Stanford University's Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency.

EcoFactor, which John co-founded in 2006, is the leading provider of personalized solutions for managing residential energy use for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). In November 2009, EcoFactor was awarded the national grand prize in the Cleantech Open, the largest business plan competition for clean tech companies.

Prior to founding EcoFactor, John was Director of Corporate Business Development for Electronics for Imaging (NASDAQ:EFII), where he had a leadership role in $500M in transactions, and led cross-functional teams that included engineering, sales, marketing, manufacturing and HR executives. He was also founder and President of Bebop Incorporated, and co-founded Involved Professionals Against Cancer.

John has been issued 12 US patents for inventions in such fields as digital photography, networked printing, and various mechanical devices. He has served on the Board of Directors of Long Beach Youth Centers and the Board of Advisors of the Tech Coast Venture Network. He is a graduate of Stanford Law School, where he was an associate editor of the Stanford Law Review. John received his undergraduate degree with honors from Oberlin College, where he majored in economics and government, and was Phi Beta Kappa.
