Pulse Energy Announces Support for Green Button
The Pulse Platform is a suite of cloud based software and services to help utilities advance cost-effective energy efficiency and boost customer satisfaction. Utilities equipped with the Platform will be able to offer their users straightforward access to energy information through a “Green Button”.
“Utilities across the country are committing to data standardization, allowing customers to easily and securely access their energy data for the first time,” said David Helliwell, Pulse Energy’s co-founder and CEO. “We’re excited by the opportunity this represents to engage commercial energy users, and proud to support the initiative as part of the Pulse Platform.”
Responding to a call from President Obama to help families and businesses take control of their energy bills, the Green Button initiative is a voluntary effort by utilities across the country to provide energy usage data to customers in an easily accessible standard format. By clicking a “Green Button”, residential and commercial utility customers can download detailed energy usage information to manage consumption and costs.
In a statement earlier this year, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu stated, “Providing consumers with easy access to data on their energy consumption can help give them the tools they need to make informed decisions about their energy use. Developing applications and services to help consumers understand and control their energy use is a field ripe for American innovation.”
