E Source Provides Energy-Efficiency Research to Tennessee Valley Authority
Under its contract with TVA, E Source will provide research, analysis, and tools related to energy efficiency, customer experience, technology assessment, account management, and marketing. The agreement also provides TVA, its local power distributors, and state energy offices in TVA’s seven-state region with access to all E Source services.

TVA, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for business customers and distribution utilities that serve 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states at prices below the national average. TVA’s accomplishments include the following:
• From fiscal years 2010 to 2011, TVA energy-efficiency programs reduced electricity consumption in the TVA region by 765 gigawatt-hours—enough electricity to keep a single 100-watt lightbulb burning continuously for more than 1,100 years.
• TVA’s progress in increasing energy efficiency was recognized by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy in its 2011 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard. The scorecard named Tennessee and Alabama as among the nation’s most improved states when it comes to energy efficiency.
• TVA’s In-Home Energy Evaluations logged more than 4,800 home evaluations in the first three months of fiscal year 2012, bringing the total number of evaluations to more than 33,000 since the program was launched in 2009.
